What Enterprise Connect does
With Enterprise calendar, you can connect every user’s calendar at once – removing the need for individuals in your company to manually grant access. You’ll also have control over whose calendars are connected and what information is shared.
Enterprise Connect allows you to auto-onboard (a part of) your organization. This way each interviewer will be automatically connected and won't have to connect their calendars individually. This shortens the ramp up time and is a better experience for interviewers and recruiters as no manual action is needed.
This calendar synchronization is done via Cronofy. For an overview of how this works please have a look here. Once calendars are synced it allows scheduling on behalf of those interviewers based on free times they have in their calendars. With that, a self scheduling link can be sent to the candidate, where they will book a time directly for their interview.
In short, your organization gains the efficiency of connected calendars without giving up control or security.
This solution is offered in partnership with our sub-processor, Cronofy, and allows you to connect with:
Microsoft Office 365 (Graph API)
Office 365 and Exchange (EWS)
Google Workspace (Google Apps for Business)
Microsoft Office 365 (Graph API)
⚠️ Before continuing, ensure you either have Azure Active Directory Global Administrator access yourself or can reach someone who does within your Office 365 tenant.
There are two ways that users can be synced, either via a full directory sync, or by limiting the access to a specific set of users. More information about the scopes Cronofy needs can be found here.
Option 1: Syncing your full user directory
Follow the steps of the link you received from your point of contact at Jobylon. This will take you through the authorization flow. The steps you will go through are here.
Please note that you should log in as a user with Azure Active Directory Global
Administrator access to your Office 365 tenant.
Option 2: Syncing a specific set of users from your directory
To ensure Cronofy only accesses a specific set of users, please follow the steps outlined in this guide.
It will show you how to install our application and set up the restriction in your tenant first, before you authorize via the link provided by your point of contact from Jobylon.
Please note that you should log in as a user with Azure Active Directory Global Administrator access to your Office 365 tenant.
To create the restriction a user with access to the Exchange Admin Center is needed to create a mail-enabled security group with an Application Access Policy.
Office 365 and Exchange (EWS):
Full and Restricted access for Office 365 has been deprecated by Microsoft, which means Office 365 on EWS won't work as expected. You can read more about it here on the warning message (https://docs.cronofy.com/calendar-admins/enterprise-connect-office365-exchange/#:~:text=ApplicationImpersonation,API%20connector.). Free-busy is still working with its limitations.
Our suggestion is that new users should be migrated to Office 365 and Graph API. Here is the documentation on how to do that (https://docs.cronofy.com/calendar-admins/faqs/ews-migration/)
Configuration of Free-Busy can be found here (https://docs.cronofy.com/calendar-admins/enterprise-connect-office365-exchange/free-busy-access/#configuring-free-busy-only-access)
For Exchange, you need to create a Service Accounts with steps here: https://docs.cronofy.com/calendar-admins/enterprise-connect-office365-exchange/
Google Workspace:
⚠️ Please note that the person creating and configuring the Organizational Unit needs Admin API privileges. The specific privileges are listed here.
There are two ways that users can be synced, either via a full directory sync, or by limiting the access to a specific set of users.
Option 1: Syncing your full user directory
An Administrator of your Google Apps domain will first need to install the Cronofy app, after which you can complete the authorization through the link shared by your point of contact from Jobylon.
Please see the guide here with the link to the application and steps you will go through in the authorization flow.
Option 2: Syncing a specific set of users from your directory
An Administrator of your Google Apps domain will need to follow the following steps:
3. Restrict access.
4. Complete the authorization through the link shared by your software provider (Jobylon).
Free/Busy access (limited calendar access) Google Workspace & Microsoft Office 365 (Graph API)
In some cases, your organization may prefer to limit how much calendar information is shared. With Free/Busy access via Cronofy, the system will only be able to see whether a user is available or busy, without accessing full event details.
This means:
Only availability (free or busy) is visible
Event titles, participants, and descriptions are not shared
When using Free/Busy access, scheduling works slightly differently:
Interview events are not automatically created in the interviewer’s calendar
Instead, an email invitation is sent to the interviewer
The event is added to their calendar once they accept the invite
This setup allows organizations to use self-scheduling while maintaining a higher level of privacy.
Free/Busy access is currently supported for:
Microsoft Office 365 (Graph API)
Google Workspace
For more technical details on how this works, see Cronofy’s documentation on Free/Busy access.
How it works with Enterprise Connect
When using Enterprise Connect together with Free/Busy access, the system is authorized with limited permissions to check availability and send meeting invites on behalf of users.
This means:
Availability can still be used to generate self-scheduling links
Candidates can book time based on real availability
Interviewers confirm bookings via email invites
If you are configuring this setup, you can refer to Cronofy’s Enterprise Connect documentation for Free/Busy permissions and scopes.
Enterprise Connect has support for hosting video meetings via:
Microsoft Teams
Google Meet
Zoom
